I have an older VHS video camera (from the early 80's) that my grandfather

gave me. It has a seperate deck (actually, the camera is really cool, too -

it's basically a video tube stuck on top of a handle). It has RCA composite

video in and out, and a funky multi-pin camera connector.



What's nice is that it's small, about 1/3 the size of a home VHS VCR, and

it has a shoulder strap. Assuming your pxl is modified to output composite,

or you can make the conversion, it's entirely portable. I've also seen

similar 8mm decks with RF inputs at flea markets for under $100. Seems like

that would do the trick as well...
