I think you just described what I used to do as well. Now that you mention it, I am quite sure that I was using a standard RCA stereo cable with one of those inch-or-so long adapters too. That's why I don't recall using any switchboxes or unwieldy cables when I went direct to VCR. In fact, I have a couple of those laying around here somewhere as I type. I'm gonna have to try using them this weekend and see if the RF out jack on the back of my Commodore computer can be used that way to record in colour direct to my VCR as I edit the intro screens into my PXL footages for my upcoming video compilation.
