Newbie.

Hey, I'm new to the list. My parents decided to have a yard sale this

weekend, and as they were pulling stuff out from underneath the house, I

managed to keep them from grabbing my old PXL. I've though quite a bit

recently about the quickcam/video conferencing craze, and though.. oh my

god! wouldn't a quickcam be almost perfect for that?

Well, anyway, know that I've got mine out of mothballs, I'm having a

couple of little problems. I've always had a problem with light. Well,

it seems to have gotten worse. Just about the only way to get the darn

thing to show a picture now is to shine a light directly into the lens,

even on the low light level setting I can still barely get a picture.

Also, the mic does nothing but squeal.

As far as the light problem is concerned, is there anything a

non-electrical engineering student might be able to do with it? I can

get around the mic. fairly easy (just a little nice little mic taped to

the side). Although I'm considering getting with a buddy to make do it

up with the rca video/audio outputs.

Thanks,

Hallow
