Well, leaving it out won't hurt it, but if you use the camera without

the filter, the image from the camera will just wash out and flare up

the screen with white, if used to shoot in an environment where there is

a lot of IR light, and especially in areas where there is a lot of

flourescent lighting, this also affects the camera without this filter,

so just to be on the safe side, I would leave the filter in....
