audio inserts [not pxl-specific]

just get ahold of a vcr with audio insert editing. these are a little 

harder to find nowadays, but they are still available. there are lots of 

panasonic ag1960's [pro-sumer vhs vcr] around; i've used one for inserting 

audio with relative success. you can feed your four-track into the vcr.

syncing, however, would be pretty bare-metal. if you're crafty you can 

mix the additional audio in with the existing, so out-of-sync errors 

could be at least partially compensated for by riding the faders.
