FYI, for those who missed my original posting almost a year ago, I have described and posted the modification for anyone to do on their own. The description was somewhat vague and "theoretical" because I did not have a PXL to try it on. Thankfully, Adam Feuer and Joe Moore had the time, inclination and an available PXL-2000, so they applied my guidelines to do the modification on their PXL-2000 plus they had the brilliant idea to capture snapshots of the process and post them on Joe's WEB page. The URL is: http://www.ixa.net/~joem I have already provided the circuit diagram for a video buffer to them and it can be found under the same URL. Just follow the link: "More PXL tricks". You will find my original "ASCII art" pasted in the HTML. So the information is all in the public domain and everyone is welcome to apply it. The reason I decided to offer the service myself is that I saw that not everyone who has an artistic interest in the PXL is necessarily an electronics hacker, and not everyone who has already paid an arm and a leg to buy a PXL has any money left over to pay a real professional (like David Riddle) to do the mod for them. My decision to offer the service myself was simply a courtesy to you guys and not an attempt to take away any business from Mr David Riddle or to make myself rich. Furthermore, David and I know very well that if YOU know a few things about electronics you can do the mod yourself. But you may not have the time or the inclination to do it, so you may want to hire a professional to do it for you. (Just like I know how to clean my kitchen and bathroom at home but I hire a professional cleaner to do it for me once a month :-) <<alex kanaris>> ============================================================================== Alexander Kanaris ___ ___ kanaris@bode.usc.edu Electrical Engineering --- Systems / / /__ / kanaris@thales.usc.edu University of Southern California /__/ ___/ /__ kanaris@aludra.usc.edu Los Angeles, California 90089-2562 kanaris@alumni.caltech.edu ==============================================================================
