Re: Ideas

     Hello-

     1. i don't own a pxl2000(though i am still looking at thrift stores)

(harder to find then leicas (i got an m2 and m3 at <$20 each))

     2. i shoot mostly 16mm with floating s-track dumped to mag. 3. i'm out

of ideas (sort of a filmmakers block)

     4. looking for great concepts that are minimal (silent <30min) 5. i do

'art/crud' film. simple girl/boy/urban legend film.

     6. am interested in any ideas you fellas may have. i run a lot of

optical print stuff which looks surprisingly like pxl, but cleaner. 7.

full credits available to anyone with great ideas.

     8. have been making film for almost 15 years, and at 1-3 films a year,

this is the first time i've stopped.

     9. help me

What types of films have you shot?

My big idea . . .fitness culture. Not sure where you are located, but

here in NYC nearly everyone, it seems, is a fitness freak, working out

regularly. Many of these gyms are located on street level, or with

     great proximity to windows.

How about cinema verite style, silent films chroniclinf fitness. i.e.

stand outside a fitness center with the camera looking in, start by

zooming in on a the rubber of a treadmill, rolling consistenly, pan up

towards someone calves flexing as they pound up & down, next shot,

torso & chest, heaving from exhaustion, expanding & contacting, zoom

in on flared nostrils & mouth inhaling and exhaling furiously,

carefully ommitting the eyes from the shot, then pan out to capture

the entire person. Copy for stairmaster, etc.

Could even do a loop. Know how on those motivational tapes, you hear

the sound of the crashing ocean for 30 minutes. How about a 30 minute

loop of a sea of runners, cut off below the head, shot from behind,

bouncing up and down. Imaging the symmetry of 5-10 runners. Or even go

to a high traffic location, example train station during rush hour

capture the millions of people exiting the train or train station

during rush hour. A 30 minute segment in silence, with an ambient CD

in the background would be hypnotizing.
