I'm not entirely sure what this cryptic comment means, but perhaps I 

should mention that I didn't buy my PXL in its modified state. I got it 

at a garage sale practically free, but not working, and sent it to David 

R. for repair (on another list member's advice.) David offered what I 

thought was a reasonable price for the modification, and I liked the idea 

of only having to ship the PXL once. The work is so clean that people 

often tell me it looks like an original configuration.



I'm afraid my PXL 2000 is far too rare a device for me to attempt to mod 

myself (though I have done that kind of work in the past) so I looked for 

a specialist with lots of experience and a good guarantee.
