The QuickCam's serial video signal is proprietary; it's highly compressed,

and then decompressed on the SW side. You could possibly 1) modify your PXL

to output RCA, 2) gut a QuickCam and find the part where the camera's video

signal connects to the compressor, and 3) hook the gutted quickcam to your

video out, and then connect it to a Mac. But it would look messy, and would

be very un-portable. A better solution for you is to get a QuickEyes/SCSI

from ComputerEyes. (I think that's their name) This is a little external

box that hooks up to any Mac and lets you record low quality video. You

could modify your PXL to output RCA, and hook it up to this thing, which

hooks up to a Mac. That might not be that bad.

However, be forewarned that the PXL is not designed to be used in "Live

Video Mode" for more than just testing. After 10 minutes of Live Video Mode

("Recording" with the remote record switch off), the camera allegedly hits

"Stop." (That is, according to the manual.)
