Introduction

I've posted once or twice to the list, but if anybody's interested, I

should introduce myself. If not, just skip over this post.

My name is Brian Johnston. I live in Jeddo, Michigan, a very small

city. I'm 18 years old, and I've owned a PXL 2000 since the unit first

came out. I was about 10. I got it as a christmas gift, and within

three days I'd already taped at least 4 hours of footage.

I'm working on three sets of projects projects right now:

1. A trilogy of movies (The Box Trilogy, as I've started calling it)

called "Blue Box", "Green Box", and "Red Box", all shot entirely in

pixelvision, and tinted with the respective color of the title.

Shooting does not begin until the 8th.

2. A friend's movie, yet untitled. It's mostly going to be shot in

VHS/Hi-8, but a daydream-sequence in the movie is going to be shot in

pixelvision.

3. Hopefully an upcoming music video for my band Arcanashpere.

I'd like to know a few things about the PXL unit, myself.

How well do tapes copy on home stereo equipment? I know I can just copy

the tapes onto a VHS tape, but they're kind of expensive to send through

the mail, whereas I only have to pay about 72 cents to send an audiotape

usually. If anybody has done something like this, tell me about it,

please.

And, has anybody been successful in taking out the tape head and

replacing it with something else, like a minidisc recorder or a Hi-8

tape head? Just my curiosity.

See you in the funny pages.
