I could recommend buying editing VCRs, but they are a little more 

expensive than the regular ones. Or going non-linear for even bigger budgets.



If you prefer to limit yourself to jam-edits, I would recommend a manual pre-roll.



If you don't know what I am talking about, here is the trick:

Rewind the playback machine about 10 seconds then let it play.

Buy the time you reach the point you want to copy, the on-screen msg will

be gone. The on-screen msg from the recording VCR is not being recorded 

so you can ignore it. Hope this helps.
