The cut filter is that tiny little piece of square-shaped light blue plastic that usually gets mucked up after a while due to gases released by the plastic after time, and can be fixed by cleaning it with Windex...... The cut filter basically filters out most IR light, so as to not have the picture totally flare up whenever the the PXL is being used in an environment where there would be a lot of IR light....... BTW, in order to remove the cut filter, you would have to take the camera apart, and take off the lens turret in front of the CCD module, but it's pretty easy. Later, Ryan bd272@scn.org
