kiddie cam

got my tyco kid cam yesterday, $99.95 at toys r us -- came to $105 w/ 

tax. the camera itself is pretty flimsy -- it appears to be made out of 

hardened polystyrine moreso than actual plastic, the whole thing weighs 

about 8 ounces maybe. setup was reasonable, and it DOES output to 

seperate audio/video, meaning that you can plug it into a camcorder. 

however, the image is nothing even near pixel-like, it looks like (and 

i'm sure it pretty much is) a security camera. the image is clear and 

focus is fixed from 8 feet to infinity, though it was acceptable at 

around 3 feet. one thing that i did notice is that it DOES pick up IR 

very well, the t.v. remote looks like a flashlight, really brite. for $99 

it's probably okay, but it's no substitute for a pixelvision.
