oops. geez, that last message of mine was a study in incomprehensibility --

sorry, i lose it sometimes when smoking crack -- what i meant to say was

that i checked out the review, saw that there was no artisdead.org in

internic, and sent mail to the owner of the net-zine that published the

pixel-porn review who responded, informing me that the review was a hoax.



in other news, i just dumped my first volume of digitally edited pixelvision

to tape. it's got 4 shorts on it, (2 of which may be worth watching). i did

it with a ///fast fps60 video capture board and adobe premiere. pixelvision

edits well cause it compresses like mad and is less taxing on the system,

but i had some egregious difficulties with sound interleve and sync. also,

the sound quality is abysmal, i sampled at much too low a rate i think. does

16 bit 22khz mono sound right? matt? anybody whose been doing this longer? i

did it at 8 bit 11 khz and it sounds like david arnett shouting into a

telephone while crouched under a table in a burning iraqi hotel. the video

came out to 25 minutes, and takes up 800 megabytes of disk space. so any of

you looking into non-linear editors, look into some type of tape backup as

well. -- this would take iomega don't cut it i don't think, media's too

expensive.
